Progress, a Finish, and a Beautiful Spring

WTNT Pink Sparrow:

I finally fixed the problem with the border in the upper right corner.  I believe I can now say I'm in the home stretch of this one.

HIH Wee Snow for a White Christmas theme for an ornament sal blog:

We have been enjoying a nice long string of beautiful weather this spring!  We've taken advantage by doing a little gardening.  I'd seen the idea for growing lettuce right in the bag of soil and elevating it off the ground.  The tomato cages are to keep our dog out of it.  For some reason he was attracted to it.  DH wanted to plant 3 bags worth.  I'm so glad I talked him out of it because we're harvesting enough lettuce to have salads every day from just the one bag.  (I snip off the lettuce we want each time and it grows more leaves.)

We've had a history of squirrels and probably raccoons eating our tomatoes so DH built a cage around them to keep them out.  (Hopefully we'll be able to get in to harvest the tomatoes!)

Some of our radishes.

Almost every night we fill our dinner plates inside and then go outside to enjoy the lake while eating.  Very soon it will be too hot to be able to do this so we're enjoying it while we can.

Happy stitching!

Your Pink Sparrow Sampler is coming along beautifully. Can't wait to see it finished. You are doing well with your veggie garden and that lake - wow! lovely view.

Your sampler is gorgeous, but I must say you've got me thinking with my tummy now! Your supper by the lake looks scrumptious and I am now fascinated by growing my own lettuce and having super fresh salad every day. I must investigate this!
