I only stitch on days that end in "y".

Happy dancing!

I finished my model for Diane Williams and it's safely in her hands.  It was a joy to stitch and I'm sure you Little House fans will love it.

I'd signed up for Lynda's Traveling Pattern and LHN's The Busy Needle arrived just as I was finishing the model.  It was great timing for a quick "stitch" and I really enjoyed stitching this one.

You can visit Linda's blog here:  http://acozylittleplaceforstitching.blogspot.com/  .  Thanks for loaning me your pattern, Lynda.  It's on its way to the next stitcher.

I also got to do a little stitching on LHN's Family Sampler.  (Are you seeing a theme?  I'm such a LHN fan!)  I changed the color of the house to resemble our house we built in MI.  I sure do miss that house!  I chose this design to participate in a Remembrance SAL and in memory of my maternal Grandma who was all about family.  Although she wasn't a cross stitcher, she was a talented seamstress, quilter, and crocheter and was ALL about family so I thought this would be a nice one to remind me of her.

No proms, concerts, etc. this weekend but DS's marching band boot camp will be on Monday (I'm a band aide for that) and a band concert Tuesday night.  We're approaching the frenetic end-of-the-year final push of activities.  DS finished his last every TAKS test of his HS career.  WOO HOO for him!  I'm hoping to clean windows and blinds this weekend with DH's help.  Doesn't that sound fun?

Everyone have a great week!

An unwelcome visitor at our house, ornaments, and model

The stomach flu has made its rounds at our house.  YUK!  Our son attending college is glad he wasn't around for all the "fun".  We're all on the mend but nobody feels much like eating anything more substantial than soup and jello.  On the plus side, it should be good for avoiding eating too many Christmas treats.

I participated in a small ornament exchange and all the ornaments have been recieved so I can show them now.  First is the one I stitched, a Country Cottage Needleworks design from an older JCS ornament issue:

Here's the ornament I received, a SamSarah design from an older JCS ornament issue.  My friend, Renee, and I are both avid Ohio State fans and she changed some of the colors to scarlet and grey.  Perfect!  She also sent a little purchased OSU snowman ornament (not pictured).

Here's an ornament I stitched for another dear friend.  It's a Prairie Schooler from another older JCS ornament issue (see a theme here?):

Finally, it's such a pleasure to be a model stitcher for both Diane Williams (Little House Needleworks) and her daughter, Nikki Leeman (Country Cottage Needleworks).  Nikki just revealed a recent design for which I stitched the model.  I'm sure it will appeal to many of you.  You can see it on Nikki's blog here:

That's it for this time.  I hope you're all enjoying the holiday season!
